A woman was found dead at the Oribanwa bus stop in Lagos after allegedly being chased by her boyfriend.

A woman identified as Mrs. Akanbi Rukayat was found dead at the Oribanwa Bus Stop in Ibeju Lekki early this morning after allegedly being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while being chased.

The discovery was made around 7:30 AM by an LNSC Officer on their way to their beat. The officer, along with the superior officer who pleaded anonymity, responded to the scene.

According to a 15-year-old girl at the scene, Akanbi Ibukun, the deceased was her mother.

The girl recounted that her mother was chased from inside the Oribanwa area to the bus stop by her boyfriend, identified as Mr. Lamba, shortly before the incident occurred. During the chase, Mrs. Akanbi was reportedly hit by a car that did not stop.

Akanbi Ibukun also informed officers that the Elemoro Police had already been to the scene and arrested her mother’s boyfriend, Mr. Lamba.

As of the time of this report, the body of Mrs. Akanbi Rukayat remains at the bus stop. Investigations into the full circumstances surrounding the death are expected to continue.
