The hometown of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in Enugu State, has been filled with jubilation following the return of his wife, Beatrice Ekweremadu, from the United Kingdom. Beatrice was recently released from prison in the UK, where she had been detained alongside her husband over allegations of organ trafficking. Her return has sparked widespread celebration among family, friends, and well-wishers in the community.

Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has been released from a United Kingdom prison.

She was sentenced to serve a six-year sentence in 2023, and has now returned to Nigeria.

The Fount learnt that Mrs. Ekweremadu arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday, and is currently in Abuja.

The Fount learnt that there is currently jubilation in Ekweremadu’s home town, Mpu, following the return of Beatrice.

Her husband, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is still serving his 10-year prison sentence in the UK for his involvement in a highly publicized organ harvesting case.

The couple, along with Dr. Obinna Obeta, were convicted for their roles in the organ trafficking and harvesting case, which sparked widespread attention and debate in Nigeria.
