President Tinubu’s Major Cabinet Reshuffle: Sacks Five Minnisters, Appoints News Ones.

Tinubu has taken drastic measures to revamp his cabinet, axing five underperforming ministers and nominating seven new faces for Senate confirmation. This bold shake-up signals the President’s determination to reinvigorate his administration and tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

President Bola Tinubu has relieved five ministers of their appointment with immediate effect.

The affected ministers include Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye Minister of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, Prof Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.

The development was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy on Wednesday.

A senior aide to President Bola Tinubu, Imran Muhammad also confirmed the development on his X social handle

The President also changed the nomenclature of the Ministry of Niger Delta, renaming it Ministry of Regional
Development.

Recall that Tinubu had threatened to sack some of his ministers found to have under-performed in the last one year since the administration came on board.

President Bola Tinubu has swiftly appointed new ministers to replace those who have been dismissed.

Bianca, widow of late Biafra warlord, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, is among the new ministers appointed by the President.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Presidency after the Federal Executive Council meeting.

Bianca Ojukwu was appointed as minister of state foreign affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was named the minister of industry, trade, and investment.

Others are: Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Federal Ministry of Labour & Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development; Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development; and Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State Education

In the same vein, the President appointed former Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation.

Before his new appointment, Dare served as the Minister of Sports and Youths Development during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting, Dare expressed confidence to serve the President in his new capacity.
